Completed in March 2022, the project added approximately 8,600 square feet to the hospital by constructing a new third-floor addition above the existing second-floor roof. The expansion transformed the NICU experience, replacing traditional care spaces with 12 private patient rooms designed to provide greater comfort, privacy, and family involvement during a critical time. Each room includes natural light, a sleeper sofa, and a refrigerator, while two rooms were specifically designed to accommodate twin patients.
The new unit also features two nurse stations, a shared family lounge and kitchen, and dedicated family restrooms, creating a welcoming, supportive environment for both patients and caregivers.
