Saunders provides college students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and gain real world experience on some of our most exciting projects. Kick off your construction career with hands-on experience working with our project teams, owners and industry partners. We provide a variety of internship opportunities, including project engineering, preconstruction services and safety. Throughout the internship period, students are encouraged to perform many of the same duties as our salaried employees.
We recognize the value in having peers to learn with and lean on. Through group training and group outings, Saunders interns gain a sense of comradery as they make their way through the internship program.
A Snapshot of the Summer
Your summer begins with a week-long orientation. You'll meet others in the organization, get to know your fellow interns and learn the software and processes you’ll use throughout the summer.
You will be paired with a mentor who will get you up to speed on your assigned project. From day one, you'll be treated as if you were a project engineer or estimator. We encourage you to explore all areas of work on a construction project, not just your assigned position.
In the past, our interns have relied heavily on one another to share experiences and questions. Throughout the summer, all Saunders interns get together for group outings such as Rockies games, jobsite trainings and tours.
You will participate in midterm and final reviews with your mentor. You'll set goals and objectives and discuss skills that you have not had direct exposure to but would like to learn. At the end of your summer, you and your mentor will discuss next steps for your future career.
