Between 2000 and 2015, Broomfield’s population more than doubled from 30,110 to 65,454, and Broomfield’s infrastructure increased nearly 200 percent. The need for a new public works service center was evident — becoming Saunders’ sixth major project for the City and County of Broomfield.
The Service Center project located on a 16.4 acre greenfield site includes an administration building complete with office and conference/training spaces, utilities and fleet maintenance shops and storage bays, street maintenance shops and storage bays, police evidence storage, heated vehicle storage, a fuel center, salt and sand storage, and other outdoor storage areas. The operational area of the new Service Center is 12.2 acres, with an additional 4.2 acres for a stormwater detention pond and slope area.
