As Broomfield’s population more than doubled between 2000 and 2015 and its infrastructure network grew significantly, the city recognized the need for a modern facility to efficiently support public works operations. The project marked Saunders’ sixth major project for the City and County of Broomfield.
Located on a 16.4-acre greenfield site, the service center includes an administration building with office space, conference rooms, and training areas, along with dedicated utilities and fleet maintenance shops, street maintenance facilities, storage bays, police evidence storage, heated vehicle storage, and a fuel center. The campus also features salt and sand storage, outdoor storage areas, and supporting site infrastructure. Of the total site, 12.2 acres are dedicated to operations, with an additional 4.2 acres allocated for stormwater detention and site drainage improvements.
