The facility provides dedicated space for wellness, recovery, and resilience, helping ensure firefighters and emergency personnel have access to the resources they need to perform at their best.
Saunders delivered the project through a fast-track renovation of an existing building, combining strategic planning, proactive coordination, and a commitment to quality to meet an accelerated schedule. The renovation included extensive demolition and reconstruction of both interior and exterior walls, as well as new landscaping, sidewalks, and parking improvements.
One of the project’s most significant challenges involved modifications to the building’s ceiling heights, which required substantial revisions to the ductwork and mechanical systems. Through close collaboration and effective problem-solving, the team successfully addressed these complexities while maintaining project momentum and ultimately delivering the facility ahead of schedule.
Throughout construction, careful phasing and coordination minimized impacts to neighboring fire department operations, allowing essential services to continue uninterrupted. The completed Wellness Center now serves as a durable, welcoming environment dedicated to supporting the health, recovery, and long-term wellbeing of the first responders who serve the community.
