Supporting those who protect our communities with a facility dedicated to health, recovery, and resilience....
Read More →Constructed following the formation of the City and County of Broomfield, this 64,610-square-foot Police and Courts Facility was developed to provide a centralized home for the community’s law enforcement and judicial operations. To meet the immediate need for services, the project was delivered on a fast-track schedule, allowing construction to begin from schematic design documents while final construction drawings were still being completed.
The facility integrates court and public safety functions within a single building. The judicial wing includes three courtrooms, along with offices for judges and district attorneys. A sophisticated audio-visual and security system was incorporated to control access to entryways, corridors, and elevators, ensuring secure prisoner movement throughout the facility.
The law enforcement portion of the building houses holding cells, interview rooms, evidence storage, a crime laboratory, police administrative offices, and a secure sally port. To support the aggressive 12-month delivery schedule, the project team developed and managed five separate bid packages, enabling construction activities to advance concurrently with ongoing design efforts.
The result is a highly secure, efficient, and technologically advanced facility that serves the operational needs of both the judicial system and law enforcement while supporting the growing community of Broomfield.
