Delivering a cost-effective maintenance facility through early collaboration and strategic preconstruction planning....
Read More →Developed as an international research and development center for advanced materials manufacturing, this 50,000-square-foot facility was designed to support a broad range of scientific, engineering, and testing activities. Located on a three-acre site, the building combines laboratory, office, and industrial workspace to create a flexible environment for innovation, product development, and technical research.
The facility includes approximately 20,000 square feet of office and laboratory space alongside 30,000 square feet of high-bay mechanical testing and machine shop areas. This combination of specialized environments allows researchers, engineers, and technicians to collaborate efficiently while supporting the full lifecycle of research, testing, and product development.
Architecturally, the building features precast concrete exterior panels treated with a textured finish that enhances the facility’s visual character while providing durability and long-term performance. The project was delivered on a fast-track schedule, achieving completion in just 5.5 months and opening 1.5 months ahead of schedule.
Today, the facility is occupied by TDA Research, Inc., a privately held research and development company focused on advancing materials science, chemical processes, and aerospace and defense technologies. The building continues to support cutting-edge work involving polymers, carbons, ceramics, catalytic and sorbent-based processes, and specialized military and aerospace components.
The result is a highly adaptable research facility that provides the infrastructure needed to support scientific discovery, technological advancement, and the development of next-generation materials and products.
