The Englewood Campus (TEC) is a new educational campus to serve Englewood High School and Englewood Middle School students as well as the Englewood Leadership Academy (ELA), along with a renovation to the existing Auditorium and Athletics Fieldhouse. The 239,000-square-foot campus accommodates approximately 1,250 students among the three schools.
With a particular focus on the creation of 21st Century learning environment, the new facility affords extensive learning opportunities to students in Englewood. Unique opportunities include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) labs, a fabrication technology lab, a culinary arts lab, a black box theater, a digital production studio, fitness & dance studios, a tiered lecture hall as well as graphic and fine arts spaces. Strong community involvement during design helped develop a facility that will be a central fixture of the community. The building is designed to encourage community use of shared spaces, while safely minimizing academic disruption. From the Library Media Center, Auditorium, two competition-sized athletic venues and community health clinic, the school is available for several community uses throughout the year.
TEC embraces sustainable design principals. Clerestory windows along central spines allow natural daylight to illuminate interior spaces. High efficiency glass, wall systems, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures and HVAC equipment minimize energy consumption. Carefully selected materials and construction methods minimize environmental impacts. The Englewood Campus is LEED Silver Certified.
