Read More →Through a multi-state design-build partnership, Saunders delivered more than 30 projects for Whole Foods Market, ranging from new ground-up stores to major renovations and operational upgrades. The program spanned four states and supported the retailer’s continued growth while enhancing store functionality, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
Project scopes included the construction and renovation of produce processing areas, upgrades to mechanical and electrical infrastructure, improvements to food preparation spaces, and the installation of new store fixtures and merchandising systems. Each project was tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual location while maintaining consistency with Whole Foods’ operational and brand standards.
A significant portion of the work occurred within active retail environments. For renovation projects, stores remained open and fully operational throughout construction, requiring careful planning, phased execution, and close coordination with store personnel. Maintaining a safe environment for customers and employees while minimizing disruption to daily operations was a key priority on every project.
Through proactive communication and a collaborative approach, Saunders worked closely with Whole Foods teams to successfully integrate construction activities into ongoing store operations, ensuring projects were completed efficiently and with minimal impact on shoppers.
The result is a portfolio of successful projects that strengthened store performance, supported business growth, and reinforced a trusted relationship between Saunders and one of the nation’s leading natural and organic food retailers.
