The Stanley Chocolate Factory
Transforming a historic landmark into a one-of-a-kind destination for craftsmanship, hospitality, and community....
Read More →Saunders provided general contracting services for approximately 120,000 square feet of new retail development as part of a larger commercial project led by Alberta Development Partners. The project delivered modern core-and-shell retail buildings for several nationally recognized retailers, creating a dynamic shopping destination designed to serve the surrounding community.
The development included new facilities for Dick’s Sporting Goods, Best Buy, Office Depot, and Ulta Beauty, all constructed using durable tilt-wall building systems that provided both efficiency and long-term performance. In addition to the core-and-shell work, Saunders completed tenant improvements for the Best Buy and Dick’s Sporting Goods locations, helping prepare the spaces for occupancy and retail operations.
A critical component of the project was extensive coordination with the owner and multiple tenant-provided contractors. Saunders worked closely with all stakeholders to manage the installation of utilities, landscaping, low-voltage systems, store fixturing, and other specialty elements required for each retailer’s unique operational needs.
Through proactive planning and collaboration, the team successfully aligned construction activities across multiple tenants and disciplines, ensuring all facilities were completed and turned over according to the required schedule.
The result is a high-quality retail development that seamlessly integrated core-and-shell construction with tenant-specific requirements, providing a successful platform for multiple national retailers to establish their presence within the growing commercial corridor.
This project received the 2009 Silver Hard Hat Award for Outstanding Retail Project from Colorado Construction Magazine.
