Creating a central hub for dining, student support, and campus connection at the heart of CU Boulder.

The Center for Community is a 143,000-square-foot dining and student services facility designed to serve as a central gathering place for the University of Colorado Boulder campus. Strategically located among five residence halls, the facility supports both the campus community and the public, serving more than 1.2 million meals annually while providing convenient access to essential student resources.

At the core of the building are nine custom dining venues that offer a variety of culinary options and create a unique dining experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The facility was designed to accommodate high daily usage while fostering social interaction and community engagement within a welcoming campus environment.

Beyond dining, the Center for Community consolidates key student support functions into a single, accessible location. Services include Career Services, Disability Services, Counseling, and International Education, creating a one-stop destination that enhances the student experience and streamlines access to important campus resources.

The project also includes a 153,000-square-foot below-grade parking structure that supports campus accessibility while preserving the pedestrian-focused character of the surrounding area.

Delivered on a fast-track schedule, the facility was completed in time to welcome students for the Fall 2010 semester. The result is a highly utilized campus landmark that strengthens student life, supports academic success, and fosters a greater sense of community across the university.

This project received multiple industry awards, including:

• 2010 Excellence in Construction Quality Award from AWCI Colorado (presented to trade partner Delta Drywall, Inc.)
• LEED Platinum Certification, 2010
