The 100,000-square-foot facility was built in just 14 months and includes 31,000 square feet of galleries and a 315-seat IWERKS Extreme Screen Theater, cafe, banquet facilities with catering for 400 to 900, a retail sales store, and office space.
The Wildlife Experience was home to an extensive collection of wildlife art, including original oils, watercolors, sculptures, and photography. The award-winning architecture incorporated copper roof and wall panels, sandstone veneer masonry, colored and etched precast wall panels, and a translucent glazed curtain wall system.
This project received multiple industry awards, including:
- 2002 ACE Award for People’s Choice from Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Colorado
- 2002 Gold Hard Hat Award for Best Overall Project and Outstanding Private Project from Colorado Construction Magazine
