Globeology is a 37,000-square-foot gallery addition to The Wildlife Experience Museum, which includes a second story addition to the existing building and a partial basement. The new exhibit gallery continues the museum’s mission of educating the public about nature and wildlife. The addition incorporates the same exterior materials as the existing building—natural stone, precaste concrete and copper.
Globeology, which opened in the Spring of 2009, includes state-of-the-art, interactive wildlife habitats, including animatronic animals triggered by motion sensors and interactive touch screens. Among the exhibits are a tropical rain forest with a 22-foot indoor waterfall, the Arctic Tundra complete with falling snow, the African Savannah and a Tropical Coral Reef.
This interactive museum exhibit features a viewing path which begins on the second floor and makes a winding descent through the exhibits to the lower floor.
