The project includes a second-story addition and partial basement expansion, seamlessly integrated with the existing facility through the use of matching natural stone, precast concrete, and copper exterior materials.
Opened in 2009, Globeology features a series of state-of-the-art interactive exhibits that bring some of the world’s most diverse ecosystems to life. Visitors encounter animatronic animals activated by motion sensors, interactive touchscreen displays, and highly detailed habitat environments designed to engage audiences of all ages. Featured exhibits include a tropical rainforest with a 22-foot indoor waterfall, an Arctic tundra experience with falling snow, an African savannah, and a tropical coral reef.
The exhibit experience is organized around a unique circulation path that begins on the second floor and gradually descends through the gallery spaces to the lower level. This carefully choreographed journey allows visitors to explore each ecosystem in sequence, creating an engaging and memorable educational experience.
Through immersive storytelling, advanced exhibit technology, and thoughtful architectural integration, Globeology expands the museum’s ability to inspire curiosity, foster environmental awareness, and deepen visitors’ understanding of the natural world.
