Safe Passage Interior Remodel

Saunders completed the construction of the new Safe Passage facility in Colorado Springs, Colo. in Fall 2021.

This project included the renovation of an existing facility to accommodate a shared floor plan with multiple agencies to support Safe Passage’s mission. This includes the groups of Safe Passage, Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), a medical clinic, KidPower, The Family Health Center, and the Department of Human Services (DHS). All of these groups now have their own spaces and share a number of areas within the renovated facility. This collaborative design-build project included a fast-track schedule with streamlined communication needs between multiple parties.

Safe Passage is a non-profit focused on supporting abused children to give them healing resources, acting as the single source of contact for medical, investigative, and legal services. Saunders’ Building Confidence in Kids (BCiK) is working with Safe Passage to support their mission throughout the project.

The project received the 2022 Best Project Award of Merit for Small Project from Engineering News-Record (ENR) Mountain States.
