As the area’s primary transit provider, MMT required expanded facilities to accommodate a growing fleet and prepare for the integration of emerging transit technologies.
The project included construction of a new bus storage facility capable of housing 72 transit vehicles, along with electric bus charging infrastructure to support the agency’s transition toward a more sustainable fleet. A new administrative building was also constructed to provide office space for contract operations personnel and transit bus drivers, improving operational efficiency and employee support services.
Extensive site improvements complemented the new facilities, including dedicated bus circulation routes, parking for staff and visitors, stormwater mitigation systems, a water quality pond, retaining walls, landscaping, utility installations, and upgraded site security infrastructure and technology. Together, these improvements created a modern transit campus positioned to support the region’s transportation needs for years to come.
