With the resort employing more than 500 workers each ski season and affordable housing options in the area unable to meet demand, the project was created to support workforce recruitment, retention, and quality of life. The new housing complex offers private studio and one-bedroom apartments, replacing traditional multi-bed dormitory-style living and becoming the first workforce housing development in the region to provide private accommodations for resort employees.
Construction began with foundation work completed in October 2022 before pausing for the ski season and resuming afterward. Utilizing sustainable modular construction and designed to be solar-ready, Conifer Commons delivers a modern housing solution that supports both the resort’s workforce and the long-term vitality of the mountain community.
The project received the 2024 Honorable Mention, Permanent Modular Workforce Housing from the Modular Building Institute.
