Located on the top three levels of the Riverview at 1700 Platte building that Saunders recently completed, BP’s portion includes 230 offices separated by glass demountable partitions. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer natural lighting, as well as unbeatable views of the Denver skyline. This office space encourages comfort, collaboration and wellness, creating a modern work environment, which focuses on work-life balance.
From custom furniture to imported Calcutta marble patterned by water-cutting, this is truly a one-of-a-kind space. The office includes a cafe and coffee bar, micro kitchens, five river-side balconies, conference and huddle rooms, a two-story living wall in the lobby, and unique employee break areas such as a resting/meditation room and The Nest — a two-story room with a woven hammock suspended between the third and fourth floors, over-sized covered swings and a two-story preserved moss wall. A courtyard on the east side serves a dual purpose — an amenity for employees and a passive storm water quality filtration system, one of the first in Denver.
Located on the ground-floor with direct access to the Platte River through moveable glass walls, The Base — an employee-only recreational lounge — serves as a company gathering and meeting space. It features a media wall, fireplace, U-shaped bar used as a servery with corresponding bar-top seating, a custom-made aspen canopy and ping-pong tables.
Structural modifications to the building included a three-story “X” staircase. Fabricated in pieces and hoisted in through a 6-foot-by-8-foot window on the fourth floor, the porcelain staircase only took two days to assemble once inside the building. It’s a spectacular design element, meant to mimic the drilling rigs in the oil and gas industry, as well as pay homage to the owner’s formal name – BPX Energy.
