Read More →Saunders Norwood completed VIM 2, a six-story multifamily community in downtown Colorado Springs and the company’s first ground-up construction project since its formation in 2021.
Developed in partnership with Norwood Development, the project broke ground in September 2022 and adds approximately 150,000 square feet and 122 apartment homes to the growing VIM development. The building embraces a modern approach to urban living, blending concepts from extended-stay hospitality with efficient floor plans that maximize functionality, comfort, and flexibility.
Designed to provide streamlined living without compromise, VIM 2 offers residents access to a variety of shared amenities, including indoor lounge spaces, courtyards, a rooftop hot tub, bike storage, a dog wash station, and other community-focused features. Together with the broader VIM development, the project creates a vibrant residential environment in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs.
Constructed on a zero-lot-line site, VIM 2 presented unique logistical challenges, with portions of the building located within 10 feet of the adjacent VIM 1 project under construction simultaneously. Maintaining a safe and efficient work environment required extensive coordination between project teams, ensuring both developments progressed successfully while maximizing the limited site footprint.
