Thompson Valley High School Feeder System Projects

Accelerating district-wide improvements to deliver modernized learning environments ahead of schedule.

This district-wide renovation program modernized Thompson Valley High School and its feeder schools through a carefully coordinated series of fast-track improvements designed to enhance learning environments, improve building performance, and better serve students, staff, and the broader community. Participating schools included Thompson Valley High School, Big Thompson Elementary School, Namaqua Elementary School, B.F. Kitchen Elementary School, Walt Clark Middle School, Carrie Martin Elementary School, and Sarah Milner Elementary School.

Originally planned as a three-summer construction program, the project team worked collaboratively with district leadership, the design team, and trade partners to develop an innovative implementation strategy that significantly accelerated the schedule. Through detailed planning, phased execution, and close coordination among all stakeholders, the entire program was successfully completed during the summers of 2020 and 2021, eliminating the need for a third construction season.

The condensed schedule required extensive preconstruction efforts and a highly collaborative approach to sequencing work across multiple campuses. By aligning resources, procurement strategies, and construction activities, the team was able to maximize productivity during limited summer shutdown periods while ensuring each facility was ready to welcome students and staff at the start of the academic year.

Throughout the program, the project team maintained a focus on minimizing disruption to school operations while delivering meaningful facility improvements that support the district’s long-term educational goals. The accelerated delivery not only reduced overall project duration but also allowed students and educators to benefit from the completed improvements sooner than originally anticipated.

The result is a successful district-wide modernization effort that enhanced multiple schools, strengthened educational environments, and demonstrated the value of collaboration, strategic planning, and efficient project execution in delivering complex programs ahead of schedule.
