Located at the northeast end of campus, this location is a complicated urban brownfield site with numerous environmental remediation challenges. The specialized, innovative environmental remediation process used on this project is an excellent example of how an industrial property can be re-purposed as a community asset.
This project included an 800-square-foot prefabricated restroom building, eight tennis courts and a new Denver City street. The tennis courts included retaining walls, sidewalks and sport court light. Other work consisted of abating contaminated soil and grading for a second phase.
The complex includes a relocated baseball field, soccer field, soccer practice field and eight tennis courts. All courts and fields are lighted and the field surfaces include state-of-the-art synthetic turf. Additionally, the facility includes several structures for press boxes, concessions, and locker and training rooms.
