Poudre School District Wellington Middle School and Eyestone Elementary Campus Conversion

This project joins Wellington Middle School (MS) and Eyestone Elementary School (ES) into one consolidated campus that includes the existing school buildings and sites.

The scope of work included the interior renovation of the existing Wellington MS building to serve the third, fourth and fifth grades that currently attend Eyestone ES. It also included interior finish upgrades, interior kitchen renovation and a replacement of the exterior bus loop and parking lot.

This major renovation was procured by the owner in late spring 2023 with a construction start date of May 2023, providing limited planning and material procurement time frames to renovate the school in time for the start of the fall semester. The project team facilitated major added scope items that were not part of the original design during the summer, including the addition of casework to all classrooms in a limited time frame.

While this project took place over the summer break with an accelerated schedule, the team placed focus on proper trade flow to allow safe access to the work for all trade partners and worked with the school staff to provide safe pedestrian access around construction activities.
