PASCAL II Addition

The PASCAL II addition adds 11,035-square-feet to the original PASCAL building at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

The facility significantly increased the high density storage capacity and will be a shared resource for University of Colorado and Auraria Higher Education Center. The book storage shelves stand almost three stories high and the facility runs at a constant 55 degrees Fahrenheit with a relative humidity of 35%.

This project was a complex addition on active campus with specific requirements on temperature control, humidification, light levels, penetrations of the existing structure and super flat floor (1/16-inch in 10 foot tolerance). In addition, the Saunders team overcame unforeseen challenges with asbestos in the soil to maintain schedule.
