Colorado State University Recreation Center

The existing Student Recreation Center remained occupied and fitness programming and services continued throughout construction activities to the high level satisfaction of the university.

The new CSU Student Recreation Center includes an additional 73,800 square feet, bringing the total facility to 175,300 square feet that contributes to the student experience by providing amenities, including: a rock climbing wall, a lobby with a lounge area, a new pool, fitness studios, a multi-activity gym, locker room renovations, a smoothie bar, and staff offices.

Exterior finishes include native natural stone from the foothills of Colorado, composite metal paneling and high efficiency curtain wall glazing. The project incorporates many sustainable features, including: construction waste recycling, sustainable materials and finishes, and energy-efficient mechanical/electrical upgrades.

This project received multiple industry awards, including:

• 2010 Silver Hard Hat Award for Outstanding Sports & Recreation Project from Mountain States Construction Magazine
• LEED Gold Certification, 2010
