Archetype Distillery

Though recognizable, the long-vacant Webber Theater at 119 South Broadway in Denver, has been largely forgotten as it stood empty, bearing the name of its last purpose - adult theater, Kitty’s South. New life and purpose has been brought back to this 1917 classic movie house dating back to the silent-film era through a dramatic transformation into a working distillery and tasting room, event space and art gallery.

Developed by SourceRock Partners and managed by Corum Real Estate, The Archetype is an artisanal distillery producing both small-batch gin and vodka for sale in the large, open-concept tasting room. The design, led by Architectural Workshop, preserved much of the building’s 100-year old brick work, while adding sharp, modern sensibilities in metal and wood to bring the space to life. This 12,050-square-foot adaptive-reuse project offers a glimpse of the distilling process along the main tasting room and event space. The event lounge showcases local art while allowing The Archetype to accommodate large-function reservations of up to 100.
