The new CSU Student Recreation Center includes an additional 73,800 sq. ft., bringing the total facility to 175,300 sq. ft. that contributes to the student experience by providing such amenities as: rock climbing wall, lobby with lounge area, new pool, fitness studios, multi-activity gym, locker room renovations, smoothie bar and staff offices.
Exterior finishes include native natural stone from the foothills of Colorado, composite metal paneling and high efficiency curtain wall glazing. The existing Student Recreation Center remained occupied and fitness programming and services continued throughout construction activities to the high level satisfaction of the university. Achieving LEED Gold Certification, the project incorporates many sustainable features including construction waste recycling, sustainable materials and finishes and energy efficient mechanical/electrical upgrades.
