Read More →The Galeton Fire Station was developed to serve as the new headquarters for the Galeton Fire Protection District, a volunteer fire department providing critical emergency services to communities across north central Weld County, Colorado. Designed to support both emergency operations and community engagement, the facility provides the resources and functionality needed to serve a growing region while supporting the department’s volunteer workforce.
Delivered through a construction manager/general contractor delivery method, the 12,300-square-foot station was carefully planned to meet the operational requirements of a modern fire department while creating a comfortable and efficient environment for firefighters. The facility serves as home base for approximately 20 volunteer firefighters and provides the infrastructure necessary to support emergency response, training, and day-to-day operations.
The station includes three drive-through apparatus bays that allow emergency vehicles to be deployed quickly and efficiently. Administrative offices support department operations, while dedicated living quarters, restrooms, locker rooms, a workout area, and a full-service kitchen provide essential amenities for firefighters during training, standby periods, and emergency response activities.
A key feature of the facility is its multipurpose training room, which was designed to serve both departmental and community needs. In addition to supporting firefighter training and continuing education, the space functions as a community room, providing a gathering place for local meetings, events, and public outreach activities.
The building’s layout promotes operational efficiency while creating a welcoming environment that reflects the department’s role within the community. By combining emergency response capabilities with spaces that encourage community interaction, the station strengthens both public safety and civic engagement.
The result is a modern fire station that enhances emergency preparedness, supports volunteer firefighters, and provides a valuable community asset for the residents of Galeton and the surrounding areas of Weld County.
