Read More →As one of the nation’s largest tissue networks and a leader in regenerative medicine, AlloSource relies on highly specialized facilities to support the recovery, processing, and distribution of tissue used in joint repair, burn treatment, and other life-enhancing medical applications. To support continued growth and evolving operational needs, AlloSource partnered with Saunders Construction to complete a multi-phase renovation and expansion of its Centennial office and laboratory campus.
The project included several phases of work designed to increase capacity while maintaining uninterrupted operations within active laboratory and production environments.
Phase 1
Phase 1 consisted of two ground-up additions to the existing facility, along with renovations to a machine shop and the construction of a dedicated cleanroom storage area. These improvements enhanced operational efficiency and provided additional support space for critical functions.
Phases 3 and 4
Phases 3 and 4 further expanded the campus through the construction of a new 10,000-square-foot addition and approximately 9,000 square feet of cleanroom renovations. These upgrades strengthened AlloSource’s ability to support specialized tissue processing activities while providing the flexibility needed for future growth.
A defining challenge of the project was completing construction within occupied facilities adjacent to classified cleanroom environments. Maintaining strict environmental controls was essential to protecting ongoing operations and ensuring regulatory compliance. The project team implemented a comprehensive infection control and containment plan that included continuous monitoring of air pressures and environmental conditions to maintain required separation between construction and sensitive laboratory spaces.
Given the specialized nature of the facility, all subcontractors completed project-specific training and testing before entering the site. This rigorous onboarding process ensured that every worker understood the operational requirements, safety protocols, and quality standards expected by both AlloSource and Saunders.
The result is a carefully executed expansion that enhances AlloSource’s research, laboratory, and tissue-processing capabilities while maintaining the integrity of active operations and supporting the organization’s mission to improve patient outcomes through advanced tissue therapies.
