Richard "Dick" C. Saunders
Dick Saunders founded Saunders Construction in 1972 and currently serves as Chairman. Dick provides guidance to the board of directors and remains up-to-date in all aspects of the company's significant activities. Dick also lends much of his time to help serve and better the communities in which we live and work. He serves on numerous boards, focusing on children, education and mental health. He is a long-time supporter of various organizations and civic functions, such as the Associated General Contractors of America, Mental Health America of Colorado, Colorado Ballet, Colorado UPLIFT, Kempe Children's Foundation and many more.
Gregory A. Schmidt, P.E., LEED AP
As President & CEO, Greg is responsible for the overall success of the organization — creating, communicating and implementing the organization’s Vision, Mission and overall direction. He is a primary stockholder/owner, and a member of the board of directors. Greg joined Saunders in 1994 and is a licensed Professional Engineer and a LEED Accredited Professional.
Greg is involved in several business associations and charitable organizations including the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation, University of Colorado Boulder Construction Engineering and Management Industry Advisory Board, Boy Scouts of America Denver Area Council, University of Colorado Real Estate Foundation and the Young President’s Organization.
David E. Alberts
Dave Alberts has been in the commercial construction industry for over 35 years and became Chief Financial Officer of Saunders in 2006. As Corporate Secretary and a senior member of Saunders’ management team, Dave directs the strategic planning of the organization from the financial perspective by developing financial models, interpreting financial data and implementing initiatives that support the advancement of the Saunders’ vision and mission. Dave is a graduate of Mesa State College and serves as a Trustee of the Contractors Health Trust.
