Saunders completed the 10-story tenant improvement for the 13-brand apparel and footwear company's new global headquarters in downtown Denver.
Saunders completed the full tenant interior and building exterior upgrades to the 1551 Wewatta building in downtown Denver. VF Corp selected the existing office building as their new global headquarters with the intention of creating a working environment that embraces a culture of innovation, teamwork and diversity. Construction of the 10-story, 285,000-square-foot facility included complete demolition of all the existing interior spaces, partial demolition of the level 2 mezzanine to tie in a new monumental staircase, and new interior construction throughout the entire facility.
The building, originally built by Saunders in the early 2000’s, now features a two-story climbing wall and one-story bouldering wall, altitude testing rooms, product material libraries, lounges, a café and kitchen, creative collaboration spaces, and high-tech conference rooms. The offices also feature extensive art work that brings the outdoors in — from murals of the mountains to finishes made from organic materials and curated biophilia. The design reflects VF’s commitment to environmental sustainability and work-life balance for their employees. The project also received LEED Platinum certification.
