The former Adams County Animal Shelter housed almost 6,000 animals a year and provided vaccinations and other services for thousands of other animals in the community. To better meet the county’s animal care needs, a new, state-of-the-art animal shelter facility was constructed.
Located at the south end of Riverdale Park in Brighton, Colorado, the Riverdale Animal Shelter is a 43,000-square-foot animal shelter and adoption center. The new facility features modern kennel spaces for cats, dogs and small mammals. The facility also features an expanded health clinic, private adoption rooms, large multi-purpose rooms for educational community events, a dedicated lost and found lobby, high-quality air treatment and noise control materials, and expanded public parking.
The design of this modernized shelter focuses on providing a stress-free temporary home for animals, and a warm, inviting environment for visitors.
