The current Adams County Animal Shelter takes in almost 6,000 animals a year and provides vaccinations and other services for thousands of other animals in the community. To better meet the county’s animal care needs, construction is underway on a new, state-of-the-art animal shelter facility.
Located at the south end of Riverdale Park in Brighton, Colorado, the Riverdale Animal Shelter will be a 43,000-square-foot animal shelter and adoption center. The new facility will feature modern kennel spaces for cats, dogs and small mammals. It will have an expanded health clinic, private adoption rooms, large multipurpose rooms for educational community events, a dedicated lost and found lobby, high-quality air treatment and noise control materials, and expanded public parking.
The design of this modernized shelter focuses on providing a stress-free temporary home for animals, and a warm, inviting environment for visitors.
